Protein World Slender Blend Review

It's been a week of updates and sorting things out so I thought I would give an update on my experience using the Protein World Slender Blend.
Some may have read my previous post here, where I explained about what it is exactly you get as part of the Protein World Weight Loss collection and how I had been doing. I kept it up until I went away on holiday and ended up losing 10lbs in about 4.5 weeks.

I was completely dedicated to it. I drank my two shakes a day, despite hating the flavour of the chocolate one, I ate healthy dinners and exercised for about 45 mins every day.
While I wasn't losing as much weight or losing it as quickly as those on Twitter were (there are people who claim they were losing 4lbs + a week - lucky them!), my weight was coming off steadily and safely.
It was really easy to implement into my lifestyle and I rarely felt hungry as the shakes are really filling. I loved making the protein pancakes on the weekends as a treat!
After my holiday, to get myself motivated again, I decided to throw away the chocolate protein powder that I disliked so much. I was convinced that was the reason why I didn't want to start using Protein World again after my holiday. I purchased the entire collection again but this time I got the Vanilla Protein Powder. And, wow! It's so delicious and full of flavour. It's actually a pleasure to drink!
I feel like I'm a pretty well educated in what Protein World has to offer; having used it many times now and having seen good results. Here's some advice I'd give to anyone thinking of trying it:
  • Spend some time on the Protein World website, looking at their recipes in particular. You can make so many yummy and healthy shakes that can really make the whole experience much more enjoyable and interesting.

  • Write a shopping list full of shake and smoothie ingredients so you have it all on hand to make when you need one. I can't count the amount of times I wanted a really nice smoothie but didn't have the ingredients. While I could have just enjoyed a plain vanilla shake, I often decided to forgo and then feel guilty.

  • Be aware that your results may not match up to the hype created on Twitter. I spent many a-jealous-hour scrolling through the Protein World Twitter page getting more and more upset at how I wasn't loosing 4lbs a week, despite working my butt off!

  • Set yourself targets. As with any weight loss exercises, targets are there to motivate and encourage. Just make sure they're realistic to avoid disappointment, obvs.

  • If you get headaches easily or migranes, be careful of the Fat Melters. I suffer from really bad migraines, which are very infrequent these days, thankfully. While I was using the Protein World Fat Melters as part of the plan, I suffered a pretty nasty migraine. I can't say exclusively it was because of that, but they are full of stimulants, including caffeine which is one of my migraine triggers. When I was taking the Fat Melters, about 30 mins after taken them, I'd feel quite light headed and weird too. I stopped using them and that feeling stopped. Just be aware and read all the labels first, just in case.

  • The process isn't easy. Despite seeing good results, when I started using Protein World after my holiday, I slacked on the exercise and didn't lose any weight. It's not a magic, quick fix! You still need to eat healthily and exercise in order to get somewhere.

So, that's the advice and information I have to offer. The last few points may sound a bit negative, but I don't mean them to be. Despite all that, I still love everything that Protein World has to offer. I need to give it another really good, dedicated go again and then I'm sure I'll see the fantastic results I did before.

Has anyone else tried Protein World or plan to? Let me know!

    1. Hiya!

I would definitely recommend the vanilla flavour... Far better than chocolate! It's great because you can use it to make loads of smoothies and other treats and because it's such a subtle flavour it doesn't interefere with any other flavours - it basically goes with everything!

It's amazing with almond milk too!

I hope that's useful for you! Thank you for reading and commenting!

    2. I ordered about a week ago and haven't received an email or any confirmation of my order. It is also not on my credit card as pending or anything. Is this company a scam?

    3. I ordered from the website and it's totally fine, maybe there was an error with the processing? Maybe just contact them directly or try ordering again?

    4. It seems like a scam to me! I ordered from Protein World on April 11 and still haven't even received a taking number.

  5. Hi Rouge,

I've been looking into this company for the past few weeks and can't seem to find if it's ok to use if you're lactose intolerant. Would you happen to know that info?

    Thx

    1. Hey Rebecca,

It's definitely worth a try to see if works for you. It's the only thing I've tried in forever that has helped me loose weight. However I've actually discovered a new brand that has better flavours and is so much cheaper. I'll have a full write-up soon!

      P.s I love your blog! It's beautiful!

    1. Oh no! Sorry to hear that... That's how it made me feel too so I purchased the vanilla instead...

Have you tried it with almond milk? It does improve the taste; it tastes more nutty which I prefer. Maybe try that if you're not allergic or anything!

  10. Hi! How has your experience been for when you are not using protein world products. Does it create a dependency ? does the weight come back on?

    1. Hi Abeer,

When i wasn't using the products and eating healthily, weight didn't just pile back on but my weight loss results weren't that great.

I wouldn't say it creates a dependency but when I stopped using the products the weightloss slowed right down. It was maintained as I wasn't eating terribly unhealthily but I didn't gain weight as a result of stopping using the products.

Hope that helps! Thanks for reading and commenting!

  11. So glad I read this about the migraines! I get really bad ones, although less frequent now, so I appreciate that advice! Can't risk having a bad one. How was your energy levels once your body got used to having the shakes as a routine?

Thanks for the review, way more trustworthy than a website.

    1. Thanks Hannah, really appreciate your comment!

My energy levels were raised and maintained at a higher level as I was eating healthily and exercising too. The shakes filled me up for longer, making me feel less tired in general though!

As for the migranes, as I said I can't be sure it was those Fat Melters exclusively, but I hadn't had a migrane for a long time and I was steadily feeling worse while taking them and then I had a horrid migrane so I'm lead to believe they contributed to it!

      Best wishes,

  14. Hi! thanks for the review. I would like to know how does the slender blend works. Is it like a laxant? Or do you sweat a lot or pee a lot? Or just nothing..?

    1. Hi Karla,

      Thanks for commenting!

I just used the shakes as a meal replacement once or twice a day which is what helped me lose weight. I didn't have any issues (no excess sweating, peeing or laxative etc). The shakes are filling and nutritious so I wasn't eating as much when consuming the shakes as I simply wasn't hungry.

The fat melter capsules that come as part of the collection help speed up your metabolism - however I stopped taking those quite early on yet I still lost weight just replacing my meals with the shakes.

I would check http://www.proteinworld.com/ for all the information you need and think about contacting them directly if you have any concerns of would like to know the ins and outs thoroughly before purchasing.

      Best wishes,

  19. I just received the slender blend vanilla flavor! I'm excited to start I'm going to use it as my meal replacements for breakfast and lunch during the weekdays. For breakfast do you have a "favorite" smoothie mixture you like? For lunch I'll be without a blender so would you just recommend mixing it with almond milk?
